LinuxWorld New York 2002
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 2002--Shaffer
Solutions, an IBM Business Partner and leading provider of PC to UNIX
integration tools, today announced that their AccessNFS Solutions have
earned IBM(R) ServerProven(R) validation. The AccessNFS Solutions
offer Microsoft Windows-based network connectivity solutions that
provide file and print sharing between mixed operating systems. The
product suite includes: DiskAccess (NFS client), DiskShare (NFS
server), and AccessNFS Gateway. All three applications have been
individually tested and validated to receive IBM ServerProven status
when used with the Windows 2000 operating system.
"We tested our AccessNFS Solutions on IBM eServer(1)
xSeries(TM)(2) and Netfinity(R) servers at the San Mateo, California
IBM Solution Partnership Center," stated Betty Torrejon, Shaffer
Solutions' Director of Business Development. "Different operating
systems commonly used by our customers, such as Microsoft Windows
2000, Windows NT 4.0, and Linux were configured and tested to simulate
real world cross-platform file sharing. Our applications were
subjected to a comprehensive series of tests involving connectivity,
configuration, Windows and Linux securities, and multi-threaded
tuning. Technical consultants at IBM's Application Solution Center
helped us optimize for peak performance on their Intel-based servers.
Our success in the IBM ServerProven validation is a testament to the
AccessNFS Solutions' reputation for being solid and powerful network
integration products for over 10 years."
Shaffer Solutions, an IBM ServerProven(R) Business Partner
Shaffer Solutions became an IBM PartnerWorld(R) for Developers
independent software vendor (ISV) member in fall of last year. The IBM
ServerProven program requires partners to meet specific, clearly
defined criteria for validating solutions that meet industry
expectations. Their goal is to verify that partner products have been
fully tested for use with xSeries and Netfinity servers.
"We're excited that Shaffer Solutions has completed testing of
their AccessNFS Solutions and has officially become a member of the
IBM ServerProven program," said Nancy Williams, Director, Worldwide
Marketing, IBM eServer. "With ServerProven and AccessNFS Solutions,
you can have confidence that you're getting the right solution right
out of the box. That means added value and protection for your
business investment."
As an IBM Business Partner, AccessNFS Solutions are now included
in the IBM Global Solutions Directory
http://www.software.ibm.com/solutions/isv. The Global Solutions
Directory is an International online directory containing
applications, tools and services from IBM and their Business Partners.

About ServerProven
IBM ServerProven is a program for software developers who want to
provide their customers with complete, reliable business solutions.
ServerProven membership requires developers to test their software on
IBM servers preloaded with non-IBM hardware devices, operating systems
and middleware such as databases and systems management software and
popular applications. Once the software is installed, tested and
validated to perform smoothly, developers can market their solution as
IBM ServerProven. ServerProven membership gives customers the
confidence of getting a solution that's easy to install, ready to run
and built to perform optimally.
