Solutions and Starnet Communications announced a new partnership this
week, and will premier their new integration software bundle, the
DiskAccess/X-Win32 Bundle, next week at Linux World in New York. This
new partnership and resulting software bundle provide complete
integration technology that is critical in today's multiple hardware
platform environments.

The new bundle includes an NFS client (DiskAccess) from Shaffer
Solutions and an X-Windows application (X-Win32) from Starnet, which
allows users complete connectivity and control of their UNIX and Linux
desktops or other mainframe hosts, directly from their Windows
workstations.

DiskAccess allows users to integrate Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP systems
into multi-vendor networks and access NFS-based file and print
resources on non-Windows machines. Users can connect to UNIX or Linux
resources with drag-and-drop ease, using Windows Explorer, Network
Neighborhood, or File Manager and manage file permissions from within
Windows property sheets.

X-Win32 allows Windows users to connect to Linux/UNIX servers on a
local network or via the Internet. X applications running on those
servers will be displayed onto the Windows desktop. The X applications
can run right alongside Windows applications and allow data to be
copied and pasted between the X and Windows applications. By using the
XDMCP connection option, users can import an entire UNIX or Linux
desktop, such as CDE, KDE or Gnome and effectively turn the Windows PC
into a powerful X workstation.

The bundle retails for $395, making it a totally affordable
integration solution for any company, and priced well below other
similar products.
